Who is una stubbs

We will miss her enormously and remember her always. Stubbs grew up in the home counties and was a chorus girl and dancer before landing a role in the wholesome Cliff Richard film Summer Holiday, which saw four lads caper through Europe on a London double-decker bus. She played Sandy, one of three stranded singers. This video has been removed. This could be because it launched early, our rights have expired, there was a legal issue, or for another reason.

It was her first major screen role, but her big breakthrough came in when she was cast as Rita, the married and even-tempered daughter of bigot Alf Garnett in the Johnny Speight sitcom Till Death Us Do Part.

She played the part for a decade. Horrible woman. Her place in popular television culture was sealed in the next few years as she appeared in Fawlty Towers with John Cleese in The Anniversary, oddly hitched with Ken Campbell ; as the ferocious Aunt Sally in Worzel Gummidge with Jon Pertwee ; and as team captain, opposite her great friend Lionel Blair, in the television show that brought parlour game charades into the s, Give Us a Clue.

In the same year, she registered a beautiful comic cameo in the gorgeous Menier Chocolate Factory revival of La Cage aux Folles starring Douglas Hodge.

Her television career remained eclectic, as she popped up in EastEnders as Caroline Bishop in , and in various episodes of Benidorm, Midsomer Murders and The Durrells. Her marriage to Henson ended in divorce in She is survived by their sons, Christian and Joe, and by Jason, the son of her first marriage.
